Dine at Stonewood

  • Evening meals are available by arrangement at Stonewood Farm
  • Dinner includes a main and dessert course and wine
  • Most ingredients are sourced from our own land, biologically produced beef, lamb or mutton, vegetables grown in our own garden, freshly picked and cooked with care.
  • If a full meal is more than you require, we can also provide a platter of NZ cheeses, nibbles and home-crafted pickles and chutneys

Things to do at Stonewood Farm

  • Relax! Enjoy the garden or chat with us as we prepare your evening meal
  • Stroll around the garden and take in the views
  • Farm walks, local rambles and a lonely beach to explore
  • Come on a farm tour with us. A short hop up the hill to take in the view is complimentary, but we also take extensive farm tours, which can be booked when you arrive. (Subject to availability – this is a working farm)
  • Take a drive to Curio Bay and after you've walked the beach or swum with the dolphins, stroll over to the Petrified forest and watch the Yellow-eyed Penguins come ashore
  • Check out Slope Point, the most Southern Point in the South Island
  • See the sealions at Waipapa Point and view the Tararua ship wreck site, also walk into the Tararua Acre where the victims of the disaster were laid to rest
  • For the golfers, visit our wind-swept Golf Course at Fortrose, 9 hole and great views over the Fortrose Estuary
  • Tokanui village is home to the Tokanui Tavern, Leiths garage, our local On the Spot shop and the Tokanui Swimming pool (heated and open from Labour weekend to Easter)
  • For eating out there is the Niagara Cafe, Sterling Tides, Tokanui Tavern and Blue Cod Blues to choose from
  • Further afield, The Whistling Frog restaurant is a good stopping place after a trip to the Cathedral Caves or the McLean Falls
